No Reservation Needed

We have been fielding a lot of questions regarding what to expect when visiting the orchard this year so we thought we would answer them all here!

These are the answers to the most frequently asked questions:

-You do not need a reservation to come out to the orchard and pick! Our orchard has lots of room and our rows are 14 feet apart which leaves plenty of room for everyone to socially distance themselves.
-We do not charge for entrance or parking!
-We charge $14 for a full 5-gallon u-pick bucket of apples.
-We have enhanced our sanitizing this year and every bucket and wagon is sanitized between each customer to ensure a safe visit.
-We have a shield at our stand where you can pay to keep a barrier between you and our cashier.
-We have contactless pay for those using card.

It has been such an amazing season, and we have been so excited to see so many people enjoying our orchard. We are just now seeing our late season apples beginning to ripen and we still have some of our early season apples, so now would be a great time to come out and have a huge variety to choose from!

Cripps Pink and Braeburn are now added to the Ripe And Ready list! Cripps Pink are a great sweet-tart apple that work well for just about everything. Braeburn is also a sweet-tart apple that is very versatile. Both of these apples, as well as Rome and Fuji that are also ready, can be stored to last several months. The best way to store apples is in a cool, dark place. If you don't have a root cellar, don't worry we don't either, a box in the garage where the light from a window won't hit it is perfect. Even a garage fridge would do, but make sure to monitor the moisture.

We still have a LOT of Romas ready to be picked! The slicers are done for the season due to the rain and splitting, but the romas will last until we get our first frost. They are $1 per pound.

We still have plenty of pumpkins for those that are still on the hunt. We have small, medium, and carving sized orange pumpkins left. They are 35 cents per pound.

Largest Apple Contest Is Back!

It is officially October! Which means it is time for our Biggest Apple Contest! This year, instead of only having one winner at the end of the month, we are going to have a winner every week! We will announce the winner of the week every Monday starting on October 12th. The contest winner every week will receive TWO FREE BUCKETS OF U-PICK APPLES! The contest is judged by weight of the apple and the apple has to have been found in our orchard. We have a scale at the stand so make sure to stop and have your largest apple recorded to be entered to win the weekly prize!

Apples are ripening sooner than we have expected this fall and we were pleasantly surprised to find our Romes, Red Delicious, and Fuji are all now added to the Ripe And Ready list! This is our first harvest from our new Fuji trees! We have patiently waited five long years to be able to try them! They are much larger, crisper and have more red coloring than our old Fujis and we are SO excited for you all to try them!

Rome apples are a deep red and perfect for baking, especially if you like baking whole apples! Scoop out the core, add a little butter and brown sugar, and pop it in the oven and you will end up with a beautiful baked apple.

Red Delicious gets a bad rap for not being an awesome apple. We will admit they are not great for baking or making applesauce, but they are great when fresh off the tree for a crisp snack! If you have never had one fresh off the tree, we highly suggest trying a few!

The weather has been great and as a result our tomatoes are flourishing! The rain and frost is most likely only a couple short weeks away, so make sure to come pick some before they are done for the season! Tomatoes are $1 per pound.

Pumpkins are still doing great! We have a LOT of carving pumpkins still waiting to be chosen from the patch. They are 35 cents per pound.

Apples, Tomatoes, and Pumpkins Ripe and Ready

Looks like we have some more great weather coming our way! Now is a great time to come get some tomatoes before the weather turns and they are done for the season.
This year we planted 9 different varieties of Romas, 11 Slicers, and 4 Heirlooms. We've got everything from your traditional San Marzano to the more unique Costoluto Florentino and Carolina Gold.
Last year the first frost surprised us and hit a lot earlier then we expected which finished our tomato season much earlier than normal. Make sure to come get the tomatoes you need before the frost hits us this year! We don't want you all to miss out!
Apples are doing great! We finished up the Ruby Mac this week and are just about out of Honeycrisp. If you were still wanting some Honeycrisp this season I would make sure to pick soon!
We currently have seven varieties of apples that are ripe and ready right now and will soon have our winter storing apples beginning to ripen as well!
Pumpkins are still available as well for u or we-pick at 35 cents per pound!
