First Day Of Fall

Yesterday was the first official day of fall and boy is it starting to feel like fall at the orchard. Apples, Pumpkins and Tomatoes are being picked and we have a few new fall additions to add to the mix this year.
For Apples we have added Liberty, Melrose and Golden Delicious to the Ripe and Ready list. Liberty is a fun, tart apple that is fantastic for drying. Melrose is an employee favorite and is sweet and crunchy and great for baking, eating, and applesauce. Golden Delicious is a classic apple and the second best rated for pies. This apple can be underrated due to it getting soft sitting on a store shelf, but fresh off the tree this apple shines. It is sweet and crunchy and simply delicious.
Pumpkins are ready to be picked and we have quite the variety this year. Orange, white, blue, black, red, and even pink pumpkins can be found in the pumpkin patch!
Tomatoes are doing well. Our slicers continue to ripen a bit more everyday and we have a plentiful amount of romas waiting to be picked and canned!
Our new fall additions are Squash and Gourds! We have three varieties of squash available. Butternut, spaghetti and acorn! We have a few different varieties of gourds to choose from including birdhouse, goose neck, batwing, and a few others!
